I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.
Psalm 144:9 [1875]
Etymology
Though a translation of psaltery, a word found in the King James Bible, the English word itself is a translation of two Hebrew words of unknown origin, namely keli (כלי) in Psalm 71:22 and nevel (נבל) in Psalm 33:2, 57:6, 81:2, 92:3, 108:2, 144:9, and 150:3.
